My name is Monica Seles and I used to play professional tennis and reached the top of my sport. Through the game of tennis is how I met Lisa. I have known her for almost 20 years. I can’t speak highly enough of Lisa and to be transparent she has not asked me to write this letter but I offered as I think is an awesome person, best trainer ever, very confidential and one of the hardest working person I know.Lisa’s proven training method’s won me many tennis titles in my career but also the tools she thought me have stayed with me in my workouts, nutrition which to me is just as valuable as all my titles. Her positive attitude has helped me tremendously as they were days when I wasn’t the most motivated person showing up for workouts but her positive energy changed my attitude. One thing that I always admired about Lisa is that she leads by example. She is a great team member and all my fellow team members really enjoyed working with her and the environment she created. I`m so happy that Lisa has moved to gorgeous Southwest Florida as a Floridian myself.

You are a very remarkable and I feel certain I will never meet anyone like you ever again. Although I am sad to lose you, I am very excited about the impact you will have on your new clients in Naples and the lucky people who will have the opportunity to be in you orbit. Your positivity and openness is a gift to everyone you meet- whether your new family, your new clients or just strangers at the grocery store. Our loss is their gain and more importantly, your gain because you are long overdue for people who give back as much as you give I will never be able to thank you enough for all you have taught me about strength, form, and injury prevention (among many other things!) Your expertise and talent for sharing it has a profound effect on my life and health and I’m eternally grateful!!!!

I have trained with Lisa for seven years, but she has worked as a personal trainer (owner operator!) for over 10 years. She has a full roster of clients in Virginia, Maryland and DC—from personal one-on-one sessions several times a week to drop-in boot camps for groups of friends. So, I have heard it said before that some trainers “aren’t there to be your friend!”–meaning, they exist to make you work hard. Lisa takes the opposite approach. She is keenly interested in the ‘whole person’ with each of her clients, and certainly becomes your friend, cheerleader, your therapist (physical and sometimes emotional!), nutritionist, and your sounding board. — All while making you work extremely hard and getting real results for the most healthful you.The physical aspects of her workouts focus on proper form and understanding what muscles you are working, why, and where you should “feel it.” She systematically works out upper body, legs, and abs in a deliberate order, with tailoring for each client, seamlessly weaving in cardio and strength. Her post-work-out stretching is the BEST.

I met with Lisa Reed in the spring of 2017. I was referred to her by a good friend. I was out of shape and overweight. I explained to Lisa that I wanted to get back in shape gradually. And that my preference was to work with someone who was a good listener and who knew when I had reached my limits during a workout. I needed whole body conditioning including cardio. Lisa assigned an experienced female trainer to work with me. She and the trainer devised a workout plan that has gotten me in the best shape I have been in since college. The trainer provides excellent physical training, and just as important she is an excellent listener who has been an absolute pleasure to work with. It’s a credit Lisa that she has such highly qualified trainers.Since 2017 I have lost 25 pounds of fat and have built muscle mass in all areas of my body. I feel great and my confidence in my appearance is high. Lisa has been available to advise both me and my trainer on my routine. She has an impressive resume, is highly respected in the the fitness world, and is a great person with tremendous energy. Lisa is always positive and eager to see her clients improve their physical fitness. I highly recommend Lisa to anyone who wants to get in shape and stay that way.

I suppose I’m like many others, whether they are in my age group (70’s) or not, who gradually let go of their shape and energy, thinking that “some day” they will get started on a program. My “someday” came when my daughter, Amy, put me together with Lisa Reed, who was helping her to achieve her own fitness goals. From my first day with Lisa, I knew that I was in for a real challenge, but her optimism, her positive attitude and her “Yays!!!” kept me going way past what I thought I could do.
Training with Lisa three days per week, combined with a commitment to working on my nutrition, has helped me lose about 30 pounds, and I’ve found that my strength and energy are increasing daily. I train with a terrific group of gals, and with Lisa we laugh and work and get stronger every day. I know that the years ahead will be so much more vital than I could’ve imagined, and for that I thank Lisa, with all my heart. And, I guess Amy is right….it’s time to chuck those baggy pants and find something a little more flattering. Yay!!!!

I hired Lisa Reed Fitness for personal training to increase my general overall conditioning and strength. I trained with them for about 9 months. I was 64 years old and 15 lbs overweight. I finished in February in the best shape of my life and will be going back in May.The training was geared specifically to me and Lisa laid out each session as a function of how I was proceeding. She pushed me when she had to and pulled back when I needed it. The result was that I regained my speed for playing soccer. Getting out of shape sneaks up on you and so does getting back into shape. I only get to ski once each winter now and this year thanks to Lisa, my muscles were never tired. Even in my 20’s, my muscles would ache. Thank you Lisa!

It gives me great pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for you. Wren Cooper and I showed up at the National Cathedral school (NCS) gym–both of us over the age of 75–totally out of shape, but willing to put ourselves in your capable hands. She had been retired for ten years; I was about to retire, but both of us were happy to use the NCS facilities as one of the perquisites of former faculty.
Wren and I were particularly delighted to see the individual care you lavished on us both. Our programs were somewhat different because of previous injuries; however, we were able to work side by side, which was enjoyable, and to encourage one another. At all times you kept an eye on what we were doing and set a pace which was appropriate to our physical abilities. Your lively sense of humor and good-natured banter was a plus in a situation which could have been monotonous. By the time you left NCS my blood pressure had fallen to 124/68 and my combined cholesterol number was 190. Not bad for an old lady! Both of us are indeed grateful for all your patient attention to us and wish you well in all of your future endeavors.

During the late fall and winter months, we divide our time between the DC area and Florida. While in the DC area we enjoy working out under Lisa’s guidance and encouragement. I have realized during my zumba and pilates classes here in Sarasota, Florida how important Lisa’s training has been! I am more flexible than most of the even younger women in my classes, and I enjoy exercising more as a result of all the strengh training I have accomplished with Lisa. I am SO grateful for Lisa’s energy, enthusiasm and encouraging spirit and greatly miss her when away from DC.

I’ve been guilty for years of always putting myself last on the list. For 10 years between my family and my business I was lucky to make time for a cup of coffee. When my youngest daughter went to kindergarten last year I was ready to make a change. Lisa held me to my goals and pushed me to achieve them. Her support allowed me to take my health seriously. In only six months, Lisa motivated me and supported me to achieving results beyond not only expectations but dreams. I have ditched 55 pounds! The equivalent weight of more than a kindergartner! I feel and look great, and with Lisa’s plan and encouragement, I’m successfully keeping it off and feel better than I did in my 20’s. You cannot put a price on Lisa’s motivation and her instruction. Thank you, Lisa, for helping me find the best me!

Our program made huge strides in all areas of conditioning under the direction of Lisa Reed. During the time she worked with our program, our team not only won four SEC Championships we went all four years without dropping a single match in the league.”

Lisa, I owe you a PHAT thank you! As of today, I have lost 100 pounds, and I know I could have never done it without you. When we started on April 12th, I had no idea I could have done this. Not that long ago I would be out of breath walking up the stairs from my basement, and now I can run 8 miles. You have taught me what it is to live a healthy lifestyle. I will never be able to let you know how grateful I am for your knowledge, encouragement, passion, and most importantly, your friendship.
